Weighted tags allow administrators to control the relative importance of each tag during lead routing. Every tag is assigned a numeric score, which is factored into the routing decision.
How It Works
- By default, all tags are assigned a weight of 50
- Higher weights increase a tag’s influence on routing priority
- Lower weights reduce a tag’s impact when multiple tags are evaluated
Example
If geographical location is the most important factor in your routing logic, region-based tags (such as North, South, or Downtown) can be assigned a higher weight—commonly 100—to ensure location plays a dominant role in agent selection.
Compatibility with Other Tag Rules
Weighted tags can be used alongside:
- Exclusive tags, to strictly limit which agents qualify
- Required tags, to enforce mandatory matching criteria
This allows you to combine hard rules with weighted prioritization for more precise and flexible routing behavior.
